Hello,

Patient had total knee replacement due to oa. Surgery was within a month which is the better code to be using for the dx? V58.78 or v54.81 with v43.65.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am still learning.

V54.81 with V43.65. After the patient is out of the post op period use V67.09 with V43.65 for follow-up. If the patient ever has complications then use the 996 codes. (until October when we get to use ICD-10)
