Hi,
In California we have a program for young children and pregnant women called WIC (Women, Infant & Children) It basically helps to provide healthy food to pregnant & nursing women, infants, and children. One of the requirements to participate in the program is for the infant to see his/her pediatrician for a hemoglobin test, to better help acess their nutritional needs. How would you code the exam? CPT & DXCD. The provider does a routine type exam; height, weight, temp., blood press, etc, also discusses the health of child and any concerns of the mother, as well as the hemoglobin test. Preventative visit according to age? and what diagnosis? well child? or encounter for admin purposes, other V68.89? Any feedback would be helpful. Thanks, Laura
