Hyperplasia of the oral mucosa (528.9 Other and unspecified diseases of the oral soft tissue) and Hyperplasia of the gingiva (523.8 Other specified periodontal diseases) = MCR denials due to NOS/NEC codes. We can't be specific and have to do appeals almost every single time to explain what is really going on with the patient.

K13.6 Irritative hyperplasia of oral mucosa

ICD-10 has specific codes for these! I am swooning with joy!:D
