Does this warrant modifier 22 added to the c section? A 4cm extension was noted from the left angle of the hysterotomy extending inferiorly. The anterior and posterior leaf of the broad ligament were torn between the left round ligament and the uterus. A most lap pad was used to pack away the bowel. The extension was first repaired with a 0 vicryl suture. The hysterotomy was then re-approximated with a single layer of vicryl suture. Several hemostatic figure of eight sutures were placed. Two O'leary sutures were placed on the left for hemostasis. The anterior followed by the posterior leaf of the broad ligament tear were then repaired with a 0 vicryl suture. Complete hemostasis was maintained. Surgicel powder was then placed over the incision. The uterus was placed back in the abdominal cavity. All operative sites were inspected and noted to be completely hemostatic. Thank you in advance.
