Does this code mean that the physician has to physically see the patient?

We have a local wound care treatment facility that is located in the hospital building. One of my physcians says that he has to be in the hospital building but is not required to see the patient or stay in the wound care center during the patients hyperbaric treatment.

Does anyone know where I can find clear documentation for the requirements of this code?
