Wiki Wound clinic billable during global period?

My doc did an open cholecystectomy on a diabetic and therefore slow/poor healer. He then saw the patient in the wound clinic as one of the general surgeons rotating through the wound clinic. The wound clinic visit was within the global period of the cholecystectomy. Is the wound clinic billable or not? If billable do I append mod 79? I don't feel 79 is "accurate" as the wound clinic is related to the surgery he performed.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

wound care is billable if pt went to operating room, not sure how wound clinic would fit ....but def 78 mod not 79. I would tend to say yes, it is billable. be sure to add dm dx
