I understand there are two types of wound vacs, disposable and non-disposable. Can anyone tell me what constitutes disposable? Is it the sponge and tubing part of the pump that collects the yuckies? I'm not sure if I'm asking the right question but I'm trying to figure out the different of the two.

Thank you,

It's not the supplies, it's the device itself which is either disposable or not. The disposable device is a small battery-operated device (sort of like the automatic blood pressure devices you can buy at the drug store) that is issued to the patient and is discarded when the treatment is complete. The non-disposable devices are a little larger and more complex devices which are returned to the DME company after treatment for cleaning and can be reused or reissued to another patient. The nursing staff who issue these to the patients at your wound care center should be able to tell you which type these are.
