I have an op note where the dr. did a diagnostic wrist arthroscopy & then went to an open wrist capsulodesis, I am thinking not to code the diagnostic arthroscopy & just code the open procedure.

Any thoughts - thanks.

Yes, you are correct, if the physician does a diagnositc scope then opens to complete a procedure it is included and you only bill the open procedure in this case.
