What is the correct way to bill if it is a x-ray is bilateral?? Does anyone know ive been told several diff things......

depends on the x-ray, the reason the bilateral exam was done and then payer requirements.

Sometimes there is a bilateral code (such as 73520 for bilateral hips). If no bilateral code, code twice or with modifier 50 or -RT/-LT or with -59 on one, depending on payer preference.

If the patient's problem is only on one side and the other side is imaged for comparison, the comparison side is not coded at al.
