Wiki x-ray interpretation in the OR

I have a questions for everyone. My physicians have been told that if they run fluro in the OR and then print a hard copy image they can bill for the interpretation of the image and the fluro. So my spinal physician was told he can bill the 76000-26 for the fluro and also a 72100-26 for the AP and lateral interpretation. Is anyone esle hearing this from their MDs and if you are do the insurance carriers pay for this. I was always under the impression that interpretation of x-ray was part of the surgical codes.

The spine doc can bill only the xray code with modifier 26 if printing the films. He cannot on the other hand bill for fluro. The hospital bills for this procdure regardless. The radiologist gets the fee for this one.
