Would a patient on Accutane fall under the X2 HCPCS Modifier?
 
I would not think so, but I am just going based on the description and my understanding of Accutane, because sometimes Accutane is successful after the initial treatment and sometimes it needs repeated correct? My thought is X4 is more appropriate since length of time episodic but is focused on the use for the Accutane. I feel that not all patients being treated with Accutane will be treating that forever correct? Also my understanding on the Continuous codes which are X1 and X2 those are more for the primary physicians involved. Like My PCP is my main provider for my neck pain because he provides manipulation and trigger points and is really the only person I see for it after I went through all my initial referrals.
