Newbie here...Which Long Term Use code should be used for statins? Z79.899 or Z79.01? My confusion is the fact statins have anticoagulant properties. Appreciate your input!

Good evening! We have to capture codes based on what the provider documents. If a specific statin (i.e., atorvastatin, simvastatin) is documented and supported as LTU, then we can code Z79.899. Likewise for the anticoagulant. Hope this helps!
