Can Z79.899 be billed as primary and only code? I was understanding that you also have to code why they are on the long term drug also such as MS or lupus. Thanks!
 
I am thinking you would need an additional more specific diagnosis reporting the indication/reason for the encounter/visit. I have used z79.899 as primary position and also another diagnosis[which will be looked as primary even though pointed in second position].
