2 % Of Fraud Tips Unresolved

CMS's response to fraud tips soon may improve. About 12 percent of complaints received through the 1-800-HHS-TIPS hotline remained unresolved a year later, the OIG says in a new report, "CMS's Processing of Complaints Received Through the 1-800-HHS-TIPS Hotline." CMS plans to issue new policies, procedures, and requirements to its contractors who field the tips. And the agency will improve its information system for processing complaints, according to the report at http://go.usa.gov/23i.
