The provider places one or more distal extension endografts (covered stents) in the thoracic aorta to reinforce or extend a prior repair. This delayed procedure is performed after a previous thoracic endovascular aortic repair. The service includes preprocedure sizing and device selection, all nonselective catheterization, and all imaging guidance and interpretation needed to complete the extension. The extension is placed from the level of the left subclavian artery down to the celiac artery.
