Summary

A cluster of differentiation 4, or CD4+ cell count is a blood test which shows how well the immune system is working in people who have human immunodeficiency virus, or HIV. The provider uses the test to determine the number of CD4+ cells in the patient’s body which gives him an idea of the developing infections in the patient. The provider documents a CD4+ cell count of 200 to 499 cells per microliter of blood.
