In this procedure, the provider inserts a catheter into an artery or a vein to infuse a thrombolytic medicine in the area of a vessel where a clot is present. He also performs the radiological supervision and interpretation necessary to perform the procedure. This code includes catheter contrast injection, position change, or replacement. Use this code for a subsequent treatment day during the course of thrombolytic therapy other than for a coronary vessel. This code also includes the cessation of thrombolytic therapy along with removal of the catheter and vessel closure by any method.
