The provider revises prior electrode placement on the antrum of the stomach or removes previously placed electrodes. The provider removes the gastric neurostimulator if it is not working properly or when the patient has responded sufficiently to no longer need the device. The gastric neurostimulator treats nausea and vomiting caused by gastroparesis, the paralysis of the stomach muscles often caused by diabetes mellitus, that has not responded to drug therapy.
