The provider performs a transcatheter embolization or permanent vessel occlusion in the head or neck vessels, which are blood vessels outside the brain and spinal cord, including extracranial and brachiocephalic vessels. Using imaging guidance, the provider blocks a blood vessel, which may be done to treat conditions such as severe nosebleeds (epistaxis), trauma to the neck, tumors, or abnormal blood vessels.
