Summary

The lab analyst performs a blood test to evaluate allograft rejection for a pediatric liver or small–bowel transplant patient. The test measures the level of CD154+T–cytotoxic memory cells in response to incubating the patient blood specimen with organ–donor and third–party leukocytes. As with all MAAAs, the code describes both the lab test as well as an algorithm that uses the test results and possibly other patient data to calculate a probability or risk score. In this case, the MAAA establishes a score that indicates the risk of liver or small bowel rejection for a pediatric transplant patient.
