please give me guidence in coding critical care in a facility setting only. I was always told could not code for facility . Need help on this subject.

If in an outpatient facility (ED for example) I would think supplies, labor, etc used for CC services would be reportable. In inpatient, those services would be included in ICU/PICU/NICU/CICU room and board charges.

That's my thoughts and I could be wrong.

Critical care is coded (facility) when performed in the ER...Hospitals bill critical care for ED cases when the requirements of critical care have been met.

at the hospital I work we have coders that code the professional side and coders that code the facility side. And, we on the facility side were always told we could not use the critical care codes this was for professional side due to the face to face treatment. Your views ....
