I know this is an older post but I actually needed this ICD-9 code today. I'm looking at 355.9. Any takers?

so do you have a location for this pain...just very general neuropathic pain? Makes it a little harder without additional information. If that is all you have then.... yes you would have to use the general 355.9.. Best case would be to find out exact location and cause have it documented and then you would be able to code this more accuratly

If it is only documented as neuropathic pain and nothing else we can code 729.2 (nerve pain) any suggestions?
