I am researching a radiology regulation question. Is a physician required to supervise a radiology service with contrast (supervision level of 3) or can a PA or NP supervise the service that takes place in a clinic setting and also if in a hospital OP setting. Please attach links to any CMS regulations/information.
I appreciate any assistnace.

I'm assuming this is a diagnostic, not therapeutic, service ?? Here is an earlier article here on the AAPC site; it includes CMS references. Looks like supervision level 3 requires MD specifically, not NPP's.
