Can you bill 2 E/M visits for the same dos if there are separate notes for each, and if 1 goes to a medical payer, and the other to an auto payer? I'm not real familiar with auto, and I always thought you could only bill 1 E/M visit for the same dos. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

In my opinion, if you have 2 seperate notes documenting 1, an auto accident visit and the other 2, something unrelated to the auto accident for example some personal problem then I do not see why you cannot bill them both. As long as the elements are seperated into 2 seperate notes and coded accordingly.
