Hello All, I am new to billing for an ER group and have a few questions
what exactly can be billed by ER doctors???

for example Can you bill a laceration repair with an ER visit?
OR what about what about 99053<<---(Service(s) provided between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am at 24-hour facility, in addition to basic services)

Hi LeAnn -

Yes you can code an E&M level with a lac repair with a -25 on the E&M code. You can also code 99053 except for Medicare. Most companies have their own policies if they use this code or not though.
