So my claim of a 11042 will not get through with Dx L02.512. Any opinions as to why?

medicare doesn't consider an abscess to be medically necessary - check your LCD on 11042. it considers 2nd & 3rd degree burn wounds; surgical wounds left open to heal; infected open wounds after trauma/surgery; ulcers; necrosis, etc. hope this helps
