The diagnosis given by the provider is cold agglutinin reaction.

It was stated as the patient was crossmatched for 2 units but had a severe cold agglutinin reaction with patient's blood in the lab so units were not transfused.

Could D59.1 be used for this?

Since the lab tests created the findings and the patient was never transfused, then nothing actually happened to the patient, so there would be no medical condition to code for.
