Hi All,
What is code for dm in uti? have to follow E11.69 or E11.29?
 
neither is correct unless the provider specifically stated the UTI is a complication of the diabetes. Otherwise for Diabetes with a UTI you would code E11.9 for type 2 and code the N39.- code for the UTI sequence first the reason for the encounter
