Infective mastitis is N61.0, but I'm not sure how you'd indicate it was due to a piercing. I tried several different key term combinations.

Dx for Infected Nipple Piercing
Hi IM
I would use the dx codes of L08.8, L98.8 or L92.3 or even M79.5. for infected skin aroun nipple. N61 I believe is associated with breastfeeding; however if the breastfeeding mom had pierced nipple got infected. This is a possibility too. Then add Z43.8 Piercing Encounter as the last dx code on claim. Check those listed dx out to match the doc's documentation on the record.
