Hello: Left epistaxis bedside procedure. Packed once by different provider and now being repacked by ENT. Left nasal cavity anesthestized but further exam revealed no active bleeding site.
7.5 m rapid Rhino was inserted and inflated.
Is this 30901 or 30903 or 30905? Is 7.5 rapid Rhinorocket for posterior or anterior nasal cavity?
thank you so much

I copied it from below website "Rapid Rhinos are commercially available in numerous sizes: 4.5cm for children, 5.5cm and 7.5cm for anterior epistaxis in adults, 9cm for sphenopalantine artery bleeds, and 5.5cm and 7.5cm bilateral nares models for bilateral bleeds."

But another website is mentioned the 7.5 cm rapid rhinos can be anterior/posterior. I think it is good to create a query for clarification.
  • Device comes in unilateral 4.5 cm, 5.5 cm (both anterior), 7.5 cm (anterior/posterior) and a bilateral 7.5 cm versions (that are used at UIHC). These devices contain a balloon surrounded by a hydrocolloid (carboxymethylcellulose hydrocolloid (platelet aggregator) coating on inflatable balloon) fabric covering. The balloon allows for a pressurized tamponade of the nasal vessels and the covering theoretically allows for improved ease of insertion and removal as well as hemostasis. Prior to application, device must be soaked with sterile water (H2O, not saline). Balloon may be taped to cheek. Prior to removal, soak packing, deflate balloon. Consider Afrin use pre- and post-removal.
