Wiki 72100 & 72148 both reimbursable by Medicare?

Hi. Received a claim with 72100 TC and 72148 TC. Should Medicare reimburse both? Thank you.

The codes are for x-ray of the lumbosacral spine (2 or 3 views), and an MRI of the lumbar spine without contrast. Both are billable on the same date, if documentation supports that both were performed and medically necessary.

(Without seeing the documentation ,I can only speculate. However, a hypothetical example could be that the x-ray showed something concerning and an MRI was performed to diagnose (or rule out) a condition.)
