Wiki Need help understanding diagnostic Laparoscopy converted to laparotomy with rt salpingoophorectomy

Hello Coders! I hope everyone is doing well. I needed some advice with a surgery that was originally scheduled as a diagnostic laparoscopy but then converted to a laparotomy. I understand that i would need to code the surgery as to what performed at the end.. But i wanted anyone input and advice.

49000 and 58940????

Hi, per your title, it was a salpingo-oophorectomy so your code would be 58720. You would not separately code 49000 - NCCI bundling.

Laparoscopic converted to open (laparotomy) would only be coded as open.
