Hello,
I have a question about multiple deductibles. In this scenario, the two insurance policies are from different companies. Patient comes in for physical therapy for neuromuscular re-education for an 45 mins. After filing the claim, both the primary and secondary apply the full deductible for this one appointment. Does the patient have to pay both deductibles or do we collect for the primary?

I would not collect more than the primary deductible amount. That should be the limit of the patient's liability.

I have the same question. Primary employer group had paid $427.99 with a $1,000 deductible. Member has medicare secondary under a medicare advantage plan that processed a $800 payment with a zero member responsibility. Is the member to pay the deductible from primary?

I would say no. The secondary said no patient responsibility.
