I am currently billing for Primary Care Family Practice specialty Gerontology. My provider is wanting to bill this CoCM and collaborate with a Psych provider which he has. I am simply looking for other PCP providers or other providers billing this by chance? If billing this, are you having success? With which insurances? I believe Medicare pays for CoCM however trying to locate 2025 current year information.

Medicare does pay for psychiatric collaborative care management but be sure that you and the reporting physician thoroughly understand the requirements for the service. In particular, in addition to the treating physician, there must be the psychiatric physician or QHP whose scope of practice includes prescription of a full range of medications and is paid for consultative work under a contract with the treating physician, and a behavioral health manager who has a masters/doctoral-level education or other specialized training in behavioral health. A registry of all patients receiving the service must be established and maintained, as well. (Some state Medicaid programs offer help accessing a registry to physicians who provide this service to Medicaid patients.)
It would also be advisable to review payment policies of the practice's top payers to verify that these codes are payable under their fee schedules.

Hope that is some help,
Cindy

Yes, thank you. I know Medicare pays I just want to make sure my provider is aware how much is entailed and he does. He has everything in place I am just curious how many others out there already bill for this.
