Wiki Behavior Health Billing for Extended Therapy Sessions

Hello

I am new to posting here. I have a Behavior Health Group wanting more information about Billing for extended therapy sessions. I have discussed the appropriate add-on codes for each type of therapy, but they are wanting confirmation that they would be allowed to use these add-on codes for billing to their different payers.

They are located in Houston Texas. I am not aware of any payers that would not allow add-on codes for therapy billing. Does anyone know if there are any specific payers when billing for Behavioral Health therapy sessions that would not allow billing with Add-on codes?

I am also looking into something similar. What add-on codes are you curious about?

Hi,

There are no longer prolonged care codes for use with Psychotherapy codes 90832 - 90838. The codes were deleted in 2023.
