I have a simple Cpt 43644 performed in inpatient setting. It is a medicare plan and we added Dx K92.2, K31.89, K27.0 all are not allowed for the procedure.
Patient does not have Morbid obesity or any obesity bmi is 23.1
What dx should I use?

Are you sure you're using the right CPT code?

What exactly did the patient have done?

43644 is for a bariatric procedure to treat obesity, 43644 is probably not the best code but would need to see op note

Medicare requires obesity code, BMI and comorbidities to process claim. Are you sure that's what was done?
