    Wiki MVA?

    When a provider documents MVA procedure, what key words should I be looking for to determine whether code 59840 or 59841? What are the key differences in coding between D&E and D&C? Should 59840/59841 only be used in elective procedures or can it be used for treatment of a missed AB?

    Wiki D&C for confirmed pregnancy but no visable via ultrsound

    Any ideas on the correct CPT for a D&C for a pregnancy confirmed by urine test but not visible on ultrasound? Would you use the 58120 non-ob D&C (that does not make sense to me) or an abortion code for 1st trimester 59840? Not sure if this impacts but the patient is requesting termination...

    When an OBGYN provider preforms a D&C or a hysteroscopy in the office, insurance carriers pay less than when performed in the hospital. Shouldn't it be the other way around?     Wiki Fetal Demise

    Patient who was 11 wks pregnant in the ER 2 days prior where it was found with fetal demise. She is back in the ER for suprapubic cramping. Has not had D&C yet. Would I report the suprapubic cramping or O36.4XX1 again? Thanks

    Wiki Hysteroscopy D&C

    Patient had a missed Abortion and we performed 59820 on 11/9/15. Patient had several episodes of heavy bleeding following this. We then performed a Hysteroscopy D&C would I use 58558 with modifier 78 or do I use the 59160?
