Does anyone know why we cant bill the 26 or TC component. My Dr. will not remove the 26 because she does not own the equipment. Medicare keeps rejecting the claims, but the dr wants a reason. Medicare states they are not coders so therefore they are not allowed to basically comment. I am at a lost. Please help!

Looking at the RVU file, this code as a PC/TC indicator of 0 which means its a physician only service and TC/26 modifiers should not be used.

Physician Service Codes -- Identifies codes that describe physician services. Examples include visits, consultations, and surgical procedures. The concept of PC/TC does not apply since physician services cannot be split into professional and technical components. Modifiers 26 and TC cannot be used with these codes.
