The new code should be good for differentiation between LLLT and Infrared (97026) from a coding perspective. However, the definition includes "...provided by a physician or other qualified health care professional". Does anyone have insight as to whether or not this new code for LLLT will require direct (one-one-one) patient contact as well as constant attendance? Some literature indicates that the Willow Curve device will qualify for LLLT, however, the device does not appear to require constant attendance or even one-on-one contact. Any insight would be appreciated.
