Since 11042 is debridement of sub-q tissue to include epidermis and dermis would these be equivalent to "skin breakdown"?

Thanks,

Debridement requires depth and area to be documented. Skin breakdown is not enough information.

It could fall under debridement of skin 97597, 97598.

If its says it was debrided down to the subq then you can use 11042. If otherwise see the parenthetical note. "Skin breakdown" is not document a depth and could easily mean dermis or epidermis only.

(For debridement of skin [ie, epidermis and/or dermis only], see 97597, 97598)
