16 hour Chemo infusion

I have a patient that comes to the hospital for a slow run chemo overnight for about 16 hours. I know I can charge 96413, 96415x8, but I was told by a co-worker to charge from 7pm to midnight as one date of service and from 12am until 9am as another date of service as it is two calendar days. This way we would get paid for 14 of the 16 hours versus just 9. I can't find any documentation to support whether or not this is an accurate way to charge for this encounter.

I feel this should only count as one encounter because even though the infusion is run across two calendar days the patient never left the hospital, however I have only been coding infusions for a few months now and I'm still learning. Any input or advice would be greatly appreciated.
