Physician performed the following: excision of endometriosis and adhesiolysis with excision of ovarian cystic mass. billed 58662 and 58661-51. Ins co is denying saying 58661 not separately reimbursable. who is correct? Thank you
When I read the CPT descriptions, I believe that 58662 includes the 58661. Unless your physician documented separate sides and separate incisions I don't think you can bill both on the same dos. Remember to use your LT and RT modifiersif you bill separate procedures on each side and I'ld send notes to back it up.
Good luck,
Bonny
58662 and 58661 are billable together. 58662 would be primary and use 51 modifier on 58661. Also, 58661 is a bilateral code so don't use LT or RT. Hope this helps.
