Is it true, as of 2014, that you have to have some sort of Associates degree to take the coding boards? Thanks

I have heard that is the qualification of an AHIMA exam such as the
CCS exam but have heard nothing of AAPC requiring an associates degree for their certifications. A friend who just attended an HFMA conference told me that an AHIMA representive announced they were considering the degree requirement. I am interested to know if this will also be a qualification to take an AAPC exam.
Regards,
Kim Clark
