Hi All,

How are you all advising your practice to move forward? Time or MDM? If time, how are you planning to document the time spent? If MDM; what elements are you requiring they document?

My doctor gives each patient as much time as is needed, which is good if you're the patient in the room and bad if you're the patient in the waiting area. I have a feeling we're going to do a mixture of both. He seems to think that everything he does is a level 5, because these are chronic pain patients with a slew of co-morbidities. I have gone through the process of coding with him and have showed him that what he thinks is a level 5 is not necessarily a level 5.

Our EMR will record a start and a stop time for the doctor being in the room with the patient, so documenting time will not be an issue for us.
