Hi,
This patient is scheduled today for a Botox injection, Upon discussion of potential risks and benefits of the procedure including the option of not doing the procedure today, the patient elected to go ahead with the procedure and gave written informed consent. Procedure in detail: The patient sat on the bed. The hand was extensively prepped and draped in a standard sterile fashion with Chlorhexidine x 1. We introduced a 24 G 1 1/2 inch needle into the appropriate hand grip muscles. Upon confirmation, and after negative aspiration for heme and fluids and no paresthesia whatsoever we injected a total of 50 units with 10 units increments into each muscle. Needle was taken out and was intact. Recovery The patient tolerated the procedure very well. The hand was cleaned with Alcohol and sterile Bandaids were applied.
We coded 20527 and J0585 CPT code for medicare in skilled nursing facility but we get denial from medicare due to unvalid POS.
Please help me.
