We have a patient with an infected total knee. In April 2020 the implant was removed and an articulating spacer placed. In September the spacer was removed and replaced with new implants. Should this be billed as 27447 and 11982 or 27487? Any input will be appreciated.

A "revision" is when the permanent components are removed, and permanent components are put back in during the same operative session. In this case an antibiotic spacer was removed, not a permanent component, so this would not be a revision.
