My Podiatrist code 28005 a lot. My concern is sometimes when reading their documentation they are removing quite a bit of bone. They will remove the entire metatarsal head sometimes. Is this still 28005 or would this change the coding to another code such as 28122 or 28112?
How much bone is "allowed" to be removed in CPT code 28005?
Does anyone know a good resource for Podiatry coding training?
