Does anyone have any reference source for when it is appropriate to use code 28011 on more than one toe? CPT states "toe;single tendon" for code 28010 and "toe;multiple tendons for code 28011. However CDR seams to contradict that by stating report 28011 if more than one toe is being straightened.
 
Cpt 28010 is single toe, single tendon. If you did a tenotomy on mutiple toes (one tendon per toe) cpt 28010 would be reported for each toe as the cpt code indicates "singe toe, single tendon.

Cpt 28011 would be reported for tenotomy percutaneous, toe; multiple tendons in one toe
