and excision of a cyst anterior knee. The cyst is not stated as bakers or popliteal just a mass. Any insight on coding the mass and the combination of codes?
 
Hi,
You can give 27328 for excision of mass, knee, as mass growth is intramuscular-
If you go for the mass excision, meniscectomy is included. So, dont code 29881.
If you can manage with 29881, you can code 29877 also and bill on the same date.
 
I would like to see the scrubbed version of this op note before I respond. You didnt provide enough info about the case (scope vs open..compartments, etc) to assess an opinion.
