Need help determining if this is considered a synovectomy (29895) or debridement (29897):

ICD-10: Chronic Synovitis - M65.872

Procedure:
"...the anterior lateral ankle was transilluminated and a linear longitudinal 1cm incision was made in the interval between the intermediate dorsal cutaneous nerve and peroneus tertius tendon. The arthroscopic shaver inserted into the joint through this incision. All scarring and chronic synovitic tissue was appropriately debrided..."

Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Elizabeth Redman, CPC, COSC

I would bill a 29895 as "motorized shaver is then used to remove the synovium." is common in the procedure an is not considered debridement.
